Become What You Are (1993)

The Juliana Hatfield Three

  1. Supermodel
  2. My Sister
  3. This Is The Sound
  4. For The Birds
  5. Mabel
  6. A Dame With A Rod
  7. Addicted
  8. Feelin' Massachusetts
  9. Spin The Bottle
  10. President Garfield
  11. Little Pieces
  12. I Got No Idols

The biggest selling album of Juliana's career.

Released with commercial appeal rising following the critical success of Hey Babe and her association with the Lemnonheads, this was the most anticipated JH release to date. There are many sublime moments (Feelin’ Massachusetts, This Is The Sound) and it closes with stronger songs including the PJ Harvey influenced Spin The Bottle. Final track I Got No Idols remains one of Juliana’s classics.

A record which remains many fans' favourite album, not least as it was the record that introduced them to Juliana.

2023 Vinyl Reissue

American Laundromat Records, in October 2022:

We are stoked to reissue Become What You Are on vinyl to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. This exclusive reissue is limited to 2,500 units worldwide.

Reissue artwork prepared by Aaron Tanner at Melodic Virtue from the original art. Our good friend Sean Glonek at SRG studios handled remastering, Levi Seitz cut metal, and the fine folks at Furnace pressed the vinyl. It looks and sounds amazing! We are very proud of this reissue and hope you enjoy it.

Pre-orders are up now for 3 variants with a further yellow splatter variant to be available from indie stores. The release date is planned for January 2023.
